About Us

We, Don & Francesca, are a father-daughter team and co-owners of discovering-sanfrancisco.com, we hope that this site has been enjoyable and useful for you and that you will visit often!

We would like to take a little time to tell you a bit about us and how we came to owning discovering-sanfrancisco.com.

Don & Francesca

We are a father-daughter team who both live in the Bay Area. My dad, Don, resides in the Sunset District of San Francisco, where he is semi-retired & always looking for something new to do!

I, Francesca, live in Oakland and am a photographer- always looking for a way to work for myself! And though my dad and I come from two TOTALLY different generations (baby boomers vs generation X) we are very much alike in that we both want to work for ourselves, we have the gift of gab and agree that the Bay Area is one of the most beautiful places in the world!

You see, for as long as I can remember my father has always been an entrepreneur, a modern-day Renaissance man - and because I am my fathers' daughter- so am I!

So one day we pondered the idea of working together- & it made sense- so we then started to look for different niches that suited us both.
That's when Site Build It! came into our lives.

Don's Side

Once upon a time I wanted to build an Internet business, (heard that song and dance before?) and for the past five years I think I tried everything from website hosts to affiliate programs and the results were always the same; I ended up wasting a lot of time, spending a lot of money... & ending up with nothing!

For example; I signed up with a web host who guaranteed to get my website up and running, AND it was cheap- only $20 to $30 a month and $10 a year for your domain name and they would help you do everything (yep- heard that one before).

But what I found out was you also had to buy the design program to design your website. That runs you $1000 to $1500! Then it got worse- you also had to submit your web pages to Google, Yahoo & Ask and all the other search engines (costing MORE money); you had to find and research your own key words, spending even more money.

So by the time you're through you've spent a few thousand dollars and you STILL don't have a website that's up and running. Thank goodness for those guarantees- I was able to recoup some of my money; which took six months of wasting time with the phone calls and e-mails before I got the money.

So then I was frustrated, becoming depressed and out of work. I wasn't able to find a job because I was overqualified (their kind way of saying you're too old) & was about to be living on Social Security. But I didn't give up.

I knew there had to be a company out there that was honest and upfront- could make me money and not take my life savings at the same time. And then- I founded it. It's called Site Build It!.

Francesca's Side

About 5 years ago my dad came up to me and said that he wanted to start an Internet business together, heck after the "dotcom" era- didn't we all? I was going to college full time, studying photography and working as a waitress.

Even though I was making decent money- I've always had bigger and better goals (I even tried to sell my photos online- but failed miserably) and the thought of working for myself sounded sweeter and sweeter- so I told my dad I was in.

It wasn't that easy! Poor guy- year after year he spent so much time and money trying program after booklet after e-book, all of them promising results and all coming up with the same- NOTHIN!

He had almost given up until one day he called me up and told me to go to the computer right away- so I did. He gave me a URL to look up and said- "Chess (my nickname) take a look at this and tell me what you think." WORD FOR WORD- then he hung up - didn't tell me what is was about or any other information- just to look it up.

So I did. And that's when I found Site Build It! I am so proud of my dad and I! We took our dream and made it a reality with a program that ANYONE could use- as long as you have time, patience and the drive to succeed-Site Build It! gives you ALL the tools needed to make it happen!
