Oakland Athletics

I go to Oakland A's games all the time! They are super easy to get to (take the BART - either the Fremont or Dublin/Pleasanton Line and get off at Coliseum/Oakland Airport) and it's always warmer in Oakland!

This year opens up with the Mariners. So come across to the East Bay and experience an Oakland Athletics game!

Day games you need sunscreen if the sun is out- as it can get pretty hot. The night games can get chilly so bring a heavy blanket or dress in warm layers!

Look below to check out the HOME GAME schedule and to buy tickets!

GO A's!!!

Friendly Tip!!

Watch out for "SCALPERS" - people selling tickets out on the street when games are sold out or close to being sold out for a much higher price than ticket value.

BE CAREFUL!!! More often than not the tickets are FAKE. You wont be allowed in and they will be confiscated at the ticket gates.

Last year the Oakland Athletics celebrated their 40th anniversary of playing baseball. In honor of this celebration I put together a little re-cap of the A's history. Enjoy!

On May 8, 1968 the Oakland Athletics moved into the one-year-old McAfee Coliseum, then called the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum. In that game against the Minnesota Twins, Jim "Catfish" Hunter pitched the first perfect game in the American League since 1922.*

As a mater of fact, the A's have produced many great names and moments in their time! Names like Reggie Jackson, Jim "Catfish" Hunter, Rick Langford, Rickey Henderson, Dave Kingman, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco -- all great players-- all Oakland Athletics!

And no one can forget these Great Moments in A's History...

World Series titles (9)

AL Pennants (15)

West Division titles (14)

Wild card (1)

Also, the Oakland A's are one of the most giving and caring teams I know of. They have over 20 community outreach programs:

THE OAKLAND A'S COMMUNITY FUND

"The Oakland A's Community Fund supports charitable organizations in improving the quality of life for people throughout the Bay Area. Specifically, the fund endeavors to improve educational programs, aid the underprivileged, assist in crime and drug prevention, promote health awareness, and champion children and senior welfare. The Community Fund believes in the need to invest in the community's future." *oakland.athletics.mlb.com
