San Francisco DJ Bars

Log onto your FACEBOOK account to follow us on FACEBOOK! The San Francisco DJ bars scene is great. It's a mixture of laid-back with raw talent. It's a great way to spend an evening- with a few friends or an intimate date- these San Francisco DJ bars will please any play list.

MILK

Milk has featured some of the best in the San Francisco underground hip hop & DJ scene & it's such a small venue! It's incredible! On Friday and Saturday nights, expect a cover (usually $5-$15) and short wait. Don't be turned off--the scene is well worth it- I love this DJ bar!

But you can always save money & arrive before 9pm to avoid paying a cover, regardless of the night. They also have a pretty good Happy Hour (Mon-Fri 7pm-9pm, Sat 2pm-9pm) featuring $1-off beer and well drinks.

Mon-Sun 7:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.

Wish

"This San Francisco DJ bar transcends trendy with its modern black leather couches, classy wood furnishings and subtle red lamp shades. An eclectic SoMa crowd comes here to enjoy the music, which covers a wide range of electronic styles. The mid priced cocktails are served by a surprisingly friendly waitstaff. But don't expect to find parking within five blocks -- cab it, or take public transportation**." Lisa Zaffarese, SF Gate

** the 27 Bryant MUNI line stops right by there! Get off at 11th or 12th

Mon-Fri 5:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m., Sat 7:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.

26 Mix

"The "mix" in 26 Mix is for the blend of neighborhood bar and dance-club energy. The owners call their concept a "sound lounge": basically, a comfortable hangout with a dance floor and juicy beats. Of course, these aren't just any DJs; between the resident artists and the guest spinners, you'll find some of the best turntablists in the City here.

Open since 1999, 26 Mix has managed to successfully straddle the rave and bar scenes with a varied lineup of theme nights & Happy Hour drink specials flow every night until 9 pm." Jan Richman- SF Gate

Butter

"The trailer-park-trash theme still has its charm at this SoMa San Francisco DJ bar. Still, plenty of kitsch at this "white-trash bistro," which serves (until 2am!) Spaghetti-Os, Tater-Tots and 40s -- served appropriately in brown paper bags -- makes it worth a visit.

Serving only the freshest Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap, this fun spot lures a casual yet slightly rowdy crowd looking for a lounge-y bar that's a little "off" from the typical SoMa club scene. Resident and guest DJs spin mainly house music that will make you want to dance -- This unique place is a destination for those seeking a silly yet party like atmosphere."Lisa Zaffarese, SF Gate

Noc Noc

"Looking a little bit like a set from a Tim Burton movie, with an angular, Goth-Deco architectural motif, Noc Noc also is home to some of the best DJs in the City. And we're talking not house or drum 'n' bass DJs who stick with one genre, but genuine sonic adventurers who can segue Stereo lab with obscure Coltrane outtakes.

This is a tiny nook, with low tables and a somewhat awkward layout, but if you can nab a place to sit, it's a terrific place to bring pals. (Translation: Go early.) In addition to their fine selection of gourmet beers, you will love the hot sake, especially on a cold, foggy San Francisco night." Josh Wilson

The Attic

This San Francisco DJ bar has a funky underground-hipster aesthetic to it without the over pretentious hipster attitude! The Attic gets great DJs who spin anything from break-beats to hip-hop, soul to jazz. This is a comfortable and mellow hole-in-the-wall that still has a flavor of early 90's San Francisco.

330 Ritch

"Located in the constantly morphing part of SoMa between Pac Bell Park and the old warehouse district, 330 Ritch Street has maintained its popularity as a trendy, stylish nightclub since 1994.

Catering to those looking to get their groove on, the club has different teams of DJs spinning dance music five nights a week, and the kitchen churns out good bar food during happy hour (Wed.-Fri., 6 pm-8 pm).
From Brit-pop to hip-hop, ambient to old-school soul, there's something for all musical tastes and styles." Jan Richman- SF Gate
