Perbacco, Is by far the best Italian restaurant in the city, if not outside of Italy. I had the honor to work and learn from Chef Staffan Terje and I owe my passion & knowledge for food and fine dining to this very talented man! His passion for food and his pride of honoring the culinary traditions of Italy have named Perbacco the best fine dining Italian restaurant in San Francisco.
Staffan travels to Italy 4 times a year to seek out new recipes and discover traditional Italian methods of cooking. The menu changes seasonally and you will never find chicken with pasta- so don't even ask! Some of the items you just can't miss there are the breadsticks, house-cured charcuterie platter, any of the house-made pastas, the dried-aged steak and the panna cotta. The wine list is impeccable and can be intimidating if you are not familiar with European wines, but do not fear! The ever-knowledgeable Sommelier and service staff will be more than happy to guide you through your wine experience.
"Staffan Terje, who worked many years at Scala's Bistro, has created a breakout restaurant in the Financial District where he makes stunning house-cured meats, incredible pastas and the world's best breadsticks, brought to the table soon after guests are seated. Old meets new in the two-level interior that incorporates a large open kitchen and various dining areas, some with majestically high ceilings and others with a more intimate, private atmosphere. Co-owner Umberto Gibin, who has worked at many of the city's best places, aptly orchestrates the front-of-the-house staff." Michael Bauer, Food Critic

Michael Mina, This chef-named, American cuisine restaurant has a complicated and highly personal menu. "Each course highlights a different ingredient, such as tai snapper or quail, and he creates up to six preparations displayed on the same plate. Leaving nothing to chance, he also designed much of his own china. Both the seamless service and the extensive wine list are as carefully orchestrated as the food and the decor." Range, "There's a reason this restaurant owned by chef Phil West and his wife, Cameron, has moved to the top of everyone's dining list: The interior is comfortable and stylish, the food is sensational, and the prices are a bargain. The restaurant has a very personal feel, and much of the interior design was done by the couple using elements found in nearby Mission District shops. Open-beamed ceilings and a pristine glassed-in kitchen complete the look. The constantly changing menu is concise, but everything's a winner. Pay special attention to the interesting cocktails and some of the best desserts in the city." Ozumo, Is the Japanese restaurant to go to if you are wanting an incredible sushi dinner & to impress your company! Not only is the sushi the best quality in the city; the ambiance, the bay views, the sake list and the service make this a dining experience to never forget!
