San Francisco Giants
I LOVE baseball! And even more than that I
LOVE my
San Francisco Giants!
WELCOME
to San Francisco - home of the 2010 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS San
Francisco Giants. The boys come back to this city by the Bay with an
accomploshment that no other set of men have been able to do since the
Giants moved to San Francisco.
This season started off with a season opener with the St. Louis
Cardinals - and I was there cheering on my boys. Like every true Giants
fan I wear my colors proud (orange & black) and scream my head off
at every game I go to! Get your tickets early -- because every game, so
far, has been sold out!
AT&T Park is beautiful and there isn't a bad seat in the house, but
I think the bleachers are the best spot. You sit right behind where
Barry Bonds used to play outfield and let me tell you- that section
knows how to PARTY!
Day games you need sunscreen if the sun is out- as it can get pretty
hot and bright. The night games can get very chilly so bring a heavy
blanket or dress in warm layers!
Remember
to wear your ORANGE on Friday games and always check to see if there
are any "Giants Give-aways" - most home games have free memorabilia to
the first 20,000 fans.
So if you are as excited about seeing the San Francisco Giants as I am-
then look below to check out this seasons' schedule & how
to buy tickets! (Click on the schedule to see a larger version)
Friendly Tip!!
Buy your tickets from a
reputable retailer!
Watch out for "SCALPERS"
- people selling tickets out on the street
when games are sold out or close to being sold out for a much higher
price than ticket value.
BE CAREFUL!!! More often
than not the tickets are FAKE. You wont be allowed in and they will be
confiscated at the ticket gates.

San Francisco Giants
History...
In
2008 San Francisco Giants celebrated their 50th Anniversary of playing
baseball for the city of San Francisco.
In honor of this Anniversary I put together a little historical re-cap*
of the Giants:
April 15, 1958- First Game Played on West Coast!
Fans packed Seals Stadium from the first day of big league ball on the
West Coast. On April 15th, in that historic opener, Ruben Gomez shut
out the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-0
1960:
On April 12th, the Giants first took the field at Candlestick Park. On
hand to christen the new stadium were Vice President Richard Nixon, who
threw out the first pitch, and Hall of Famer Ty Cobb.
Just one year after opening their new ballpark at Candlestick Point,
the Giants played host to the first All-Star Game of 1961.
1970:
Willie Mays hits his 600th career HR. He would end his career with 660
homers, which is good enough for third place on the all-time list.
The San Francisco 49ers move in to share the stadium with the Giants.
1981:
Frank Robinson becomes the first black manager in the National League
when he is named to head the Giants.
1999:
The San Francisco Giants play their last game at Candlestick park.
2000:
The Giants christen the spectacular AT&T park (then called Pacific
Bell Park)
2007:
Barry Bonds breaks all time Home Run record held by Hank Aaron on
August 7th 2007 hitting #756
2010:
The Giants win the World Series!
Managers I remember....
- Roger Craig 1985-1992
- Dusty Baker 1993-2002
- Felipe Alou 2003-2006
- Bruce Bochy 2007-Present

AT&T Park
"AT&T Park, with its breathtaking views and classic design,
received rave reviews throughout the country as one of the smash hits
of 2000.
The first privately financed ballpark in Major League Baseball since
Dodger Stadium (1962), the Giants' new home features an inspiring
nine-foot statue of America's greatest living ballplayer, Willie Mays,
at the public entrance.
Home runs that splash into McCovey Cove (named after another Hall of
Fame Willie); an 80-foot Coca-Cola bottle with playground slides and
miniature AT&T Park behind left field that has become a magnet for
kids of all of ages; and mass public transit that rivals any sports
complex in the world."
