MUNI operates 80 routes throughout San Francisco, with some routes operating 24 hours a day. Most buses stop every two blocks, making the city easily accessible to over 90% of the businesses and residential areas!

REGULAR FARES
These fares apply ONLY to BUSES, LIGHT RAILS/STREET CARS/METRO/UNDERGROUND.
Does not apply to cable car fares, or to Monster Park and Special Events service fares.
Note: Exact change required. No change given. Subway turnstiles require coins (all denominations of US coins accepted, including dollar coins). To ride the San Francisco MUNI you can either have a:
Muni monthly pass, Passport, valid token coupon or valid transfer/fare receipt
or
Adult: $1.50
Senior, ages 65+ : 50¢ Valid ID required
Youth, ages 5-17: 50¢ Valid ID required
Disabled: 50¢ or monthly sticker affixed to a valid Regional Transit Discount card Valid ID required
Child, ages 4 and under: Free
The above fares are good for 90 minutes with a transfer. (Meaning you can use as many MUNI lines as you want in that 90mins with your transfer!)And always ask for a transfer on all San Francisco MUNI lines (except Cable Cars), even if you do not plan to transfer to another vehicle.
J, K, L, M, N, S, and T riders MUST have a transfer/fare receipt or other Proof of Payment.
CITY PASS
The San Francisco CityPass is good for seven consecutive days on MUNI and is also good for admission to several attractions in the city. It provides a savings over the individual admission prices for the attractions and fare for San Francisco MUNI. This is a great idea for traveling families and large groups!

MUNI PASSPORTS
San Francisco MUNI Passports are good for unlimited rides on MUNI, including cable cars. 3-day and 7-day Passports are good for three or seven consecutive days. I HIGHLY recommend getting the passport for those travelers wanting to save money on public transportation! • 1-day Passport $11 • 3-day Passport $18 • 7-day Passport $24 Passports may be purchased in advance at the following locations:
