San Jose Sharks

Log onto your FACEBOOK account to follow us on FACEBOOK!The San Jose Sharks are a newer addition to the Bay Area sports scene, but pack a punching good time and have built a dedicated fan base through out the Bay. Come out to San Jose to the HP Pavilion and see for yourself why they call it the "Shark Tank".

San Jose Sharks history....

In the late- sixties the NHL brought a hockey team to Oakland, The Oakland Seals. Unfortunately, with almost complete failure, the team was sold to Cleveland after nine money-losing seasons in 1976.

San Jose SharksIt wasn't until 1990 that a NHL hockey team was brought to San Jose, who had been requesting a team for many years.

The teams' name was inspired by the numerous amount of sharks living in the Bay Area waters, specifically the "red-triangle".

The Sharks played their first NHL season in 1991-92. And in the 16 years they've been playing, they've gone to the Conference Semi-Finals 7 times, the Quarter Finals 10 times and the Finals once.

The team brings a dedicated, loud crowd to the former San Jose Arena, now named HP Pavilion. This arena, commonly referred to as the Shark Tank, was built specifically for the San Jose Sharks in 1991.

GO SHARKS!!

Friendly Tip!!
Buy your tickets from a reputable retailer!

Watch out for "SCALPERS" - people selling tickets out on the street when games are sold out or close to being sold out for a much higher price than ticket value.

BE CAREFUL!!! More often than not the tickets are FAKE. You wont be allowed in and they will be confiscated at the ticket gates.
